Helping a furry friend - JACK the Pomeranian

Yesterday, while we were on our walk. Just moments from home. We came across a lady who was in a spot of bother.

Her beloved Pomeranian named Jack some how managed to slip out her garage door, and into what we refer to as a brief period of FREEDOM!

As Richard, and I ran about trying to catch this slippery little one.

We weren't sure how we were going to get this one home. We called out "come here Jack", that did not work. We tried enticing getting into the car for a ride, even throwing some treats.

Little Jack was happy, just running about the street and into people's properties. He did not have a care in the world. I wonder what the people at their tables having breakfast thought of those people running about. A man coming to get his mail also participated ( Thanks for that ).

Mean-while, we still had our two dogs Bailey and Bella to handle. Bailey does well with other dogs. Bella is alittle different. Bella is a BIG dog when there is a gate between you, your dog and her. BUT....Put her in-front of another dog ( no matter big or small ),  without the wall/gate and she absolutely hates it! Poor girl was all-over the place. Submissive to Jack's interaction of her.

Richard said he would go home and get some doggy choco drops. At first, did not work. Then Jack got curious, and came close enough to Richard, that he was able to grab little Jack.

Richard kindly carried Jack all the way to his residence and placed him in the front door.

This is one way to spend Saturday morning.

Bailey Loves His Chewy

Bailey loves to sit in my craft room, eating his fav chewy

The Nutty Dog Vs Poor Postie

For the life of me. I can not understand why Bailey turns into a nutty dog, when eyes are suddenly fixated on the mail-man, or woman.

We normally try to take the morning walkies before postie arrives on our street. So, say before 10am.

This morning didn't go to that plan. We did well, not to encounter postie - at first.
Going around the block, we were just minutes from home. And then........... we noticed a figure wearing bright red and yellow, and on her bike. Darn it, it's postie.
There she was heading towards us, on the opposite side of the street.

Do you think we could fool Bailey from also noticing...well, I mentioned to Bailey's papa, "Cover his eyes", how foolish of me to say that.

Bailey, initially was busy doing what male dogs do - sniffing every tree, pole and bush. And then there it was...the look....the look of utter concentration. He spotted the postie.

As we ushered him up the road. He proceeded to act nutty, until postie was out-of-sight. Thank goodness for that.

I am not sure what it is about the postie. Could it be the bike, or the colors of the shirt, maybe seeing a person a bike could trigger something. Maybe it's all of the above.

I will never know....

Recycle Washing Powder Scoops

There is no need to throw away that washing powder scoop, just because you have bought a new box/bag that contains a new scoop.

After giving it a clean in the dishwasher, or with soap and hot water..

Why not use it for some purpose around the house, perhaps for your small animals feed?

I use the scoops for my guinea pigs pellet and muesli mix

Using the scoop for my animal mix

This means I save alittle money on not having to purchase a scoop and it gets recycled within my home

All my guineas love this brand of mix from Animates

Harness Extension Tip for Small Dogs

We purchased a lead and harness for Bella when she was a wee pup.

We managed and still do get alot of use out of this set

As expected, the clips did start to grow shy of connecting on the harness

As there was nothing wrong with the lead, and she can still wear the harness we
came up with an idea, to create an extension without spending more money

Use Two standard keyring holders. Connect one to each side of the harness ( where you would normally place the lead clip ). Connect the two together by using the lead - away we go

Please note:
**Safety is key.  She is firmly in the harness and cannot slip out with the extension in. As she is a small dog and does not pull hard, I can use this method.
Because keyrings can come in assorted sizes, ensure the size is right for the size of your small pet
Not recommended for large/strong dogs just incase they bend the rings**
